Dundee City Council is set to invest over £100,000 in environmental and sporting upgrades across the city.
The Neighbourhood Services Committee will meet next week to discuss approving tenders for the programme, which includes the creation of a multi games area on the existing surface at Gillies Park and lighting for the games area.
Through Dundee Decides, additional lighting will be installed along the pathways in Gillies Park. The Ferry ward voted to spend £25,000 of their Participatory budgeting allocation to light the pathways in the park.
Further proposals include;
• Transforming Arklay Terrace Community Growing Area, including the development of a disused allotment garden into a community allotment. The completed transformation could see over 40 individual growing areas, fruit trees, poly tunnel and a communal shed on the disused area of land
• The refurbishment of the stone path at Middleton Woods.
Cllr Kevin Cordell said: "These are really exciting proposals that are important to making the city look and feel more attractive, while also making Dundee safer by installing lighting throughout one of our parks.
"I'm sure the multi-use games area will be welcome addition to the local community and will encourage more people to become active.
"These works will enrich our local area and ensure that everyone can enjoy their local environment."
