Hart Builders has started work to build a new £1.8 million housing development in Galashiels.
The 10-home scheme at Rose Court is being delivered for Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA). Completion is scheduled for December this year.
The new homes will benefit from dedicated parking spaces and front and back gardens, as well as solar panels to allow tenants to heat them more affordably.
The scheme, which will take around 40 weeks to deliver, replaces a block of 24 maisonettes which was knocked down in 2015.
Henry Coyle, SBHA's Director of Assets and Property Services, said: "We are delighted to announce the commencement on the 12th of March of work at Rose Court. Quality, affordable family homes are in high demand in this area, and this project will also play a vital part in the regeneration of Langlee as a whole. This is part of our commitment to create great places to live throughout the Scottish Borders."
