Residents in Ayr are being invited to submit their views on plans for a regeneration project in the town.

In February last year, a 'masterplan' was approved to transform land between the medieval "Auld Brig" and the Victorian "New Bridge" on Ayr High Street.

The project involves creating a new mixed-use development at the site featuring quality office accommodation and housing, as well as space for niche retail units, cafes, restaurants and spaces for public engagement.

In addition, the council plans to create new Riverside office accommodation, with capacity for 350 workers. Proposals set out a commitment to top quality design including the use of materials that relate to existing historic buildings and to an overall scale that respects the surrounding conservation area. This will be complimented by an enhanced public realm area.

Morgan Sindall have been appointed as the project's Tier 1 contractor, while architects Keppie Design have been appointed as design consultants.

Despite the public consultation running until 27 February, comments will still be possible until the end of that week.
