More than 110 new apartments are to be built in Dundee.
Plans have been approved for the 111 Build-to-Rent (BtR) development on Constitution Road in the city.
The VOX Dundee scheme involves redeveloping the former Dundee College, which will also include car parking and 24 serviced apartments. Other features include a new café fronting Constitution Road along with a cinema/auditorium, a launderette and an extensive landscaped courtyard. A studio/reception area will facilitate the management of the short stay apartments and ongoing resident support at the development.
Reigart Contracts have been appointed to carry out enabling works to facilitate the project. The company will be responsible for environmental works, which will see the building stripped back to its concrete frame.
David Kilgour, Whiteburn Project's Director said: "It is fantastic to finally be in a position to commence works on site. Reigart are an experienced and excellent contractor, who we are looking forward to working with again."
Eve McCurrich, a VOX representative, said: "VOX Dundee will offer people an opportunity to live in this purpose designed and built and professionally managed rental community."
Completion is scheduled for 2019.
