Public Invited To Submit Views On Former Anderson High School Site

Construction News Image
A public workshop is to be held over plans to redevelop the former Anderson High School site in Lerwick.

7N Architects are currently leading a team to develop a 'masterplan' for the Knab site.

Suggestions that have previously been put forward for the site, including feedback from the last community event in November, have been incorporated into new options that will be presented at the workshop.

Following the event, 7N Architects will prepare a draft 'masterplan' to be publicly exhibited, marking the start of a formal period of consultation.

The public workshop will take place in Lerwick Town Hall starting at 6pm on Tuesday, 06 March.

Urban planner, Nick Wright, said: "We've listened to the comments from previous meetings to incorporate suggestions and to refine the options for the Knab site. The input from the community is really important to help form the right mix of future uses of this site. I'd encourage anyone with views on the Knab site to come along to this meeting, to check that we are going in the right direction."

Cllr Alastair Cooper said: "The Knab site is a unique site for redevelopment and we're keen to continue to engage the public in a discussion on how it could best contribute to the community for years to come.

"The Knab site has an important role in solving the many challenges facing us all as a community, from preserving our heritage to providing community facilities and homes."
