Work on a £350,000 piling project at Edinburgh Airport is now complete.
FK Lowry Piling carried out the seven-week scheme on behalf of BAM Construction.
The project involved the design and installation of almost 500 No. 355mm Sq. Precast Piles with lengths ranging from 10 to 14m for working loads of up to 750kN.
FK Lowry's Contracts Manager, Sam Pyper, explained: "The scheme itself was reasonably straight forward. However, the fact that we had to work 'Air-Side', logistics had to be carefully planned with the client and the Airport Authorities.
"All precast pile deliveries, piling plant & equipment had to be booked, checked-in and escorted to the Site past dozens of Passenger Planes. We were delighted to have one of our modern Juntann PMx-20 Driven Piling Rigs on the project and we're pleased to say that we completed the piling project safely, to time & budget."
