The public are being encouraged to share their views on draft planning guidance to support town centres and open spaces in East Dunbartonshire.
Draft Town Centre Strategies have been put together for Bearsden, Bishopbriggs and Milngavie, providing long-term visions and proposed actions; while Green Infrastructure and Green Network Supplementary Guidance has also been drafted, aimed at identifying and enhancing greenspaces.
The documents provide further information on policies established in the East Dunbartonshire Local Development Plan (LDP) which were approved at a recent meeting of the Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets Committee. When adopted, the guidance will form part of the LDP and be used to determine planning applications.
People are now being invited to read the documents and share their thoughts between 15 January and 26 February, 2018.
The documents can be accessed online, while copies are also available at Community Hubs and libraries. Drop-in sessions are also being held across East Dunbartonshire.
Thomas Glen, Depute Chief Executive – Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, said: "I hope as many people as possible take the opportunity to view the guidance and provide feedback.
"The aim is that – after public consultation has been taken into consideration – these documents will be adopted by the Council alongside the LDP and will inform decisions on planning applications.
"The guides help applicants and the public understand the Council's expectations and requirements for good quality new developments."
