Work is to start on a £330,000 resurfacing project in East Ayrshire.
Scotland TranServ will start repairing 1km of the A77 Northbound Kilmarnock Bypass, from Spittalhill to Inchgotrick Bridge from 8pm on Friday, 01 December. Work is scheduled to be completed by 6am on Monday, 04 December.
To carry out the works safely, the Northbound carriageway is to close.
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ's Principal Roads Design Engineer, said: "In order to resurface this stretch of the A77 Northbound as efficiently and safely as possible, it will be necessary to close the carriageway over the weekend, with a local diversion in place. The works will address existing issues with surface defects and structural cracking.
"We have worked in liaison with Police Scotland, local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule these works for the period of least impact on businesses and commuters. It is important with winter approaching and temperatures dropping that our works are completed."
