Repair works are continuing on a dangerous building in Kelso, Scottish Borders.

Since last month, contractors have been carrying out repairs to the privately owned building on Roxburgh Street, which was also closed due to the healthy and safety risk.

However, following an inspection by a structural engineer, the specialist deemed the building stable enough to allow scaffolding to be removed and vehicles to return to the road later today, 17 November.

Once Roxburgh Street has reopened, the one-way order on Union Street will be restored and traffic will return to normal. Scaffolding will remain in place on the site to allow contractors to complete the repairs, which are expected to be concluded before Christmas.
