The two-phase project will see a new dedicated cataract surgery unit built at the Hospital, along with an additional orthopaedic and elective surgical care facility. Work will start on site early next year with completion set for 2021.
The deal was awarded as part of Framework Scotland 2, a national procurement programme for healthcare new build and refurbishment projects in which Kier is one of five principal supply chain partners.

The project is being carried following the Scottish Government's plans to expand the Golden Jubilee and create five new elective treatment centres across the country.

These new facilities will provide improved healthcare services within the Golden Jubilee National Hospital and well as giving the local economy a boost as we will be creating local jobs and learning opportunities for local suppliers."
