Resurfacing work is to start on the M8 Motorway near Glasgow Airport.
Scotland TranServe will begin repairing a 650-metre section of the Westbound carriageway at Junction 29 west of Glasgow Airport from Friday, 03 November. Completion is scheduled for Monday, 06 November.
Work will take place between 8pm – 6am each day. Traffic managemnet will be in place.
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ's Principal Road Design Engineer, said: "Working in liaison with Glasgow Airport, Police Scotland, local authorities and other key stakeholders we have scheduled these important works to cause minimal disruption to commuters and businesses. The project will help to tackle issues with surface defects and structural cracking in one of the busiest stretches of carriageway.
"The M8 is the first major infrastructure that visitors see when they arrive in Scotland. The motorway is used by more than 100,000 vehicles every day, as they travel across the busy central belt. Because of the depth and scale of the project, we need a longer timescale for the materials to cool and harden, creating a stronger, more robust road surface."
