Work is underway to install a New Primary Substation in South Lanarkshire.
The scheme, which got underway in September, is being carried out by SP Energy Networks (SPEN) has part of its Investment Plan.
The new Substation is being installed in the grounds of the old Jackton Primary School due to the existing electricity network in South East Kilbride being at its limit and not being able to take no additional load.
To allow SPEN to safely lie in the ground 9,280m of 11kV cable, 8,280m of 33kV Cable, 750m of LV cable and a pilot cable, the B764 Easglesham Road will be closed for five weeks from 30 October.
The overall project is scheduled to be complete in late 2018.
