SGN is to begin a £300,000 gas network upgrade programme in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.
The scheme along Burnbank Road is part of a wider ongoing project involving the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe. The new piping has a minimum lifespan of 80 years and will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the area.
Work will get underway on Monday, 18 September and is scheduled to last around 14 weeks.
A council spokesperson said: "The work will begin in Burnbank Road at its junction with Yews Crescent. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place in Burnbank Road when required, moving along the eastbound carriageway as work progresses.
"The lights will ensure traffic can flow past the work area safely and will be manually controlled to minimise disruption to motorists. During the project the other streets involved will be Yews Crescent, Dalziel Street, Linden Lea and Linwood Terrace."
