Road Resurfacing Work In Hawick To Begin

The Scottish Border Council has announced that resurfacing work on a section of Weensland Road in Hawick is to begin on Monday, 04 September.

The works will be carried out under a convoy system between 9am and 4.30pm, allowing the road to remain open.

However, the road will be closed on Sunday, 10 September, from 8am to 5pm.

During the works, Weensland Road will also be subjected to parking restrictions.

Councillor Gordon Edgar, Executive Member for Roads and Infrastructure, said: "I am pleased to see another important road in a Borders town resurfaced, which will benefit motorists and cyclists.

"We have tried to keep the disruption to a minimum and thank members of the public for their patience in advance of the works."
