Work on a £2.1 million leisure centre refurbishment project in Grantown-on-Spey is now complete.
The scheme involved redevelop the swimming pool to meet the needs of local swimming clubs and lessons in terms of depth.
It has been designed to be more accessible with an improved hoist system to assist people with disabilities to enter and leave the pool.
Features of the refurbishment included the remodelling of the changing village area and installing a new swimming pool 'tank or shell' and water treatment plant. In addition, the changing area has been transformed into a family friendly changing village style design which remains suitable for school requirements.
Roof coverings to the existing pool and adjacent fitness hall have been replaced, including the installation of new roof lights over the pool.
High Life Highland Chief Executive Ian Murray said: "The investment by The Highland Council to undertake the refurbishment works ensures that we are able to provide first class facilities and service for our customers in the area.
"I am sure the result will prove to be hugely popular with the local community as well as enhancing the existing services offered to High Life card holders across the Highlands."
Cllr Bill Lobban said: "Since the Centre opening in 2007 it has gone from strength to strength. I am sure that this investment to improve the facilities on offer will be well received by regular users and first time visitors."
