Work is to start on a major resurfacing project in South Lanarkshire.
The four-phase scheme will be begin on the A72 Carlisle Road in Ferniegair from Tuesday, 18 July. Road closures and diversions will be in place.
The project will run as follows;
• Phase 1: Chatelherault Park Junction to Worrall Gardens - Tuesday 18 to Saturday, 22 July
• Phase 2: The Avon Bridge itself on Sunday, 23 July
• Phase 3: Worral Gardens to the Avon Bridge - Monday 24 to Friday, 28 July
• Phase 4: The Avon Bridge to Smithycroft - Sunday 30 July to Thursday, 03 August
Gordon Mackay, Head of the council's Roads and Transportation, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience during these essential road improvement works. We will make every effort to accommodate local businesses and residents. However, some disruption will be inevitable and we would be grateful for the cooperation of anyone affected during these times."
