More than 50 new homes are to be built in Glasgow.
West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) is planning to build 52 'affordable' homes on Fielden Street in Barrowfield.
The HA has been carrying out a comprehensive regeneration programme in the area since 1996, with considerable investments being made by the Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council and WSHA.
The organisation's acquisition of Fielden Street follows the completion of 18 amenity homes in the Barrowfield Estate in August 2016. Overall, WSHA is investing £25 million to develop 200 new homes in the neighbouring communities of Gallowgate and the Games Village, Dalmarnock, Glasgow. In the next few years, plans are in place to build 500 'affordable' homes across Glasgow, Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.
WSHA Chief Executive Lynne Donnelly said: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our regeneration work in Barrowfield. The site has excellent potential to welcome many new families and individuals, and the development will provide an immediate visual impact for residents. We look forward to working with the local community to provide housing which meets their needs."
