Nearly 300 new homes are to be built in South Ayshire.
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Lynch Homes have secured planning permission to build 290 houses to the north eastern edge of Troon.
The 49-acre site off Main Street in Barassie will feature a mix of three, four and five bedroom homes. Taylor Wimpey will deliver 226 new homes, with Lynch Homes providing 64.
Features include two village greens offering open spaces with equipped informal play areas, as well as a good network of footpaths, cycle routes and woodland walks. In addition, good transport links will be developed.
Stephen Andrew, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: "Taylor Wimpey is delighted to confirm that along with our partners Lynch Homes, we have secured planning permission for the provision of 290 new homes on the land off Main Street in Barassie near Troon.
"As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local Troon area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.
"We believe this development will be a great addition to the local area, and complements our other developments across the region."
