Kingdom Housing Association (HA) has appointed Scott Kirkpatrick as its new Director of Development.

Previously, Mr Kirkpatrick worked as head of development services at the Association's Glenrothes-based association that builds and manages housing, while also providing care support services in East Central Scotland.

He joins the HA as it plans to build 1,500 new homes for social rent and 400 for mid-market rent over the next five years. In addition, the association also expects to develop projects for other social landlords and councils which could deliver as many as 1,000 additional new homes over the same period.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Kirkpatrick said: "I'm delighted to be appointed as the director of development and I'm looking forward to the new challenges. I have worked with Kingdom for a number of years and share the desire to grow our business, through the provision of much needed affordable homes, to meet the growing needs and demands in all our areas of operation.

"I am thankful that we have such a strong and experienced team in place and we will be further strengthening our development team through new appointments over the next few months."

Bill Banks, Kingdom's Group Chief Executive, added: "I'm very pleased that Scott has been appointed as Director of Development. We have ambitious plans to develop an increased number of new properties over the next five years and we took the decision we wanted to strengthen the executive management team, to ensure our business plan targets and objectives are achieved.

"Scott's appointment will help ensure we not only deliver our plans to increase the number of new affordable homes we provide, but will also ensure we provide community benefits, through the added value that can be gained from the development of new projects."
