Work is to begin to repair a stretch of flood-damaged road in Moray.

Around 300 square metres of the route near Dallas, which links the village with the B9010, will be resurfaced.

The damage was caused by a torrent of floodwater after the nearby River Lossie topped its banks earlier this week. It is expected the route will be closed until the middle of next week.

Until the road is repaired, motorists are advised to take an alternative route via Dallas Lodge and Branchill before rejoining the B9010.

Homes in the village were undamaged thanks to a partially built embankment, which is being developed following flooding in the area three years ago.

In 2014, 27 properties were affected by flooding with the cost of damage being put at £600,000.
