The search is underway for contractors to carry out the refurbishment of the Burrell Collection museum in Glasgow.

The £31.6 million Burrell Renaissance Construction Project will see the historic building renewed to create a dedicated space for special exhibitions and the conversion of offices into galleries.

Features include overhauling the roof of the building, while landscaped terraces and civic space will link the museum with surroundings of Pollok Country Park.

An OJEU notice has now been published inviting contractors to bid for work on the project.

Up to five bidders will be shortlisted for the scheme, with an option for a contractor to provide hard Facilities Management services for up to three years once the scheme is completed in late 2020.
