A design engineer working for the Highland Council has been nominated for a national award.
Beatriz Fraga De Cal has been shortlisted in Scottish Renewables' Young Professionals Green Energy Awards, which recognise any individual who contributes to the renewable energy sector in Scotland and has worked in the sector for five years or less.
Since moving to Inverness after completing an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems in London, Beatriz has been working as part of the Energy, Engineering and Sustainability team with the council's Development and Infrastructure service since March 2015.
In addition, in the last two years she has achieved full Design Engineer status.
Speaking on her nomination, Beatriz said: "The Highland Council is giving me the opportunity to be involved in a wide range projects which are helping me to grow professionally in the energy sector. Scotland is a fantastic place to carry out renewable energy projects and achieve carbon reduction targets.
"I'm absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for the Communicator category of the Young Professionals Green Energy Award."
The winners will be announced during an award ceremony held at the Glasgow Science Centre on Thursday, 25 May.
