Work to repair a railway line near Glasgow is now complete.

The Glasgow-Anniesland, via Maryhill, line has reopened today, 11 April, following works to repair damage caused by a landslip.

Tonnes of masonry and material was washed onto the track near Erradale Street in Lambhill last week, weakening the foundations of a footbridge over the line.

Engineers have now stabilised the embankment, secured the railway boundary and removed the damaged footbridge. Features included using rock netting and metal anchors, craning out the damaged bridge structure and making repairs to the track beneath.

David Dickson, ScotRail Alliance infrastructure director, said: "Our engineers have been working hard throughout the weekend to repair the extensive damage caused by the landslip and to reopen the line as quickly as possible for passengers.

"We understand the inconvenience this incident has caused to our customers and our lineside neighbours and we appreciate the patience they have shown while we have carried out these vital works."
