A new deal has been signed for Aberdeen to benefit from opportunities in Mexico's oil and gas industry.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was agreed with Villahermosa City and the state of Tabasco in Mexico on Tuesday, 28 March.
Currently, representatives from Aberdeen are meeting with various oil and gas operators and engineering contractors in the country, as well as training companies.
The three-year MoU identifies how both cities can work towards common goals and objectives, with a particular focus on the energy industry and shared role as World Energy Cities.
Aberdeen is anticipated to greatly benefit from Mexico's oil and gas industry, particularly in the hydrocarbon sector.
In addition, north-east companies are well placed to offer technology and expertise that can fill identified gaps. Subsea technology, drilling services and efficiencies are also key areas.
