Robertson Central has reached a milestone on a £19 million student accommodation development in Glasgow.
The contractor has erected the steel structure on a 458 new build student residence in Glasgow's Collegelands and completion is on schedule for summer 2018.
The project, which is being delivered in behalf of developer Vastint Hospitality, features an S-shaped building set over six storeys, including a private courtyard to the south and a semi-public courtyard to the north. The accommodation will feature a mix of standard, cluster and accessible rooms.
David Cairns, Managing Director of Robertson Central, said: "This is Vastint Hospitality's first student accommodation project in Europe and it is our job to ensure that their vision is realised.
"Our team has been on site for around six months and the progress to date has been significant, with the erection of the steel structure a sign of how far we've come. We look forward to completing the project and seeing the first students move in at the start of the 2018/19 academic year."
The development will join other Robertson Central projects in the Glasgow area including Huntershill Community Sports Hub in Bishopbriggs for East Dunbartonshire Council and Ward Refurbishments for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde at Stobhill and Gartnavel Hospitals.
