Robertson To Start Work On North Lanarkshire Housing Development

Robertson Partnership Homes is set to start work on a new housing development in North Lanarkshire.

The company has been appointed to build 14 new two-bedroom cottage flats, as well as a new park and ride car park, on the site of the former Alexandra Primary School in Cairnhill, Airdrie.

The site is part of the council's NL Homes programme, which will see 2,150 new council homes built by 2027.

In addition, work will start in the coming months on five other sites; School Street, Coatbridge; former St Ambrose High School, Coatbridge; former New Stevenston Primary School; former Calder Primary School, Motherwell and Brown Road, Cumbernauld.

Council Leader Jim Logue recently visited the Cairnhill site with Cllr Barry McCulloch to view plans for the development.

He said: "I'm delighted with the excellent progress we've made on delivering new, affordable council homes across the area.

"We're continuing to invest in new housing and are committed to delivering our ambitious plans for over 2,000 new council homes - one of the biggest council house building programmes in a generation. I'm very proud of our achievements to date and confident we can continue to deliver on our pledge to benefit North Lanarkshire's residents and its local communities."

Cllr McCulloch added: "Tenants tell us that one of their top priorities is for the council to provide more homes. Our new build programme - NL Homes - supports our vision to provide affordable, good quality homes within safe and sustainable communities for the people of North Lanarkshire, and I'm very proud that we have been able to commit investment in new and improved housing."
