BEAR Scotland To Install New £62,000 Pedestrian Crossing

BEAR Scotland is to begin installing a new £62,000 pedestrian crossing in the Highlands.

The existing zebra crossing in Drumnadrochit will be upgraded with new pedestrian signals, including the construction of dropped kerbs to make it easier to cross at the Village Green junction, resurfacing, reconstruction of footways, new road markings and signing.

The five-week scheme is scheduled to take place between 7am – 5pm on Monday, 13 February. One evening of surfacing works will take place on Thursday, 23 February from 7pm to midnight.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland's North West Representative, said: "We're pleased to begin the works to upgrade the existing crossing in Drumnadrochit which will improve road safety for pedestrians in the village.

"The puffing crossing will provide increased visibility and warning for motorists to slow down on approach to the crossing, helping vulnerable road users to cross safely."
