Scotland TranServ is to begin a £384,000 road resurfacing project in Glasgow.
Work to maintain part of the A725 East Kilbride Expressway will get underway on Friday, 10 February.
Resurfacing will take place on the eastbound carriageway, where the A725 meets the B7012 to High Blantyre.
For safety reasons, the eastbound carriageway will close on Friday at 8pm and re-open on Monday, 13 February.
Operating company representative for Scotland TranServ, Andy Fraser, said: "This programme of work is part of over half a million pounds of investment in maintaining the A725.
"The resurfacing works are essential for the safety of our many road users, and a full weekend closure isn't a decision we've taken lightly. With heavy commuting traffic during weekdays, the weekend closure has actually been carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption to road users. We would advise motorists to plan ahead and look at alternative routes for their journeys in order to avoid potential delays."
