Plans have been submitted for a new £5 million housing development in Glasgow.

AS Homes (Scotland) is proposing to build 40 new homes for social rental at Springburn Way, Springburn.

Plans include two-bedroom flats built in two four-storey blocks, reflecting the scale of the neighbouring tenement properties. The homes will be built using timber frame construction, which is quicker to build and more energy efficient.

The development is being delivered for Home Scotland, part of Home Group.

Paul Kelly, Managing Director of AS Homes (Scotland), said: "This development will provide high-quality, modern and energy-efficient affordable rented accommodation for the Springburn area, while bringing an empty site back into use. As with all our projects, we are committed to giving local jobs to local people, and pledge that at least 75% of sub-contractors on the construction of these homes will be from the local area."
