Robertson Tayside Continues Work On £13.2m Primary School

Robertson Tayside is continuing work to build a new £13.2 million primary school in Dundee.

The contractors are developing the new Tayview Primary and completion is scheduled in time for the new term in August next year.

The project involves creating a new two-storey, three-stream primary school designed for 650 pupils and 70 nursery school places.

The scheme was procured through Scape Group's National Major Works framework.

As part of the development, pupils got the chance to unveil the badge of their new school on Wednesday, 30 November.

Mark Robinson, Scape Group chief executive, added: "It is fantastic that Tayview Primary pupils are being given the opportunity to be so actively involved in the creation of their new school.

"The opportunity for them to see the construction process first hand is not only an interesting educational experience, but could be just the spark that some of the children need to inspire future careers in construction."

Kevin Dickson, regional managing director, Robertson Tayside, said: "Work on Tayview Primary is well underway and in addition to providing local employment opportunities, it's great to have pupils involved during the construction process to help shape the identity of their new school.

"The build is nearing the halfway stage and upon completion, Tayview will provide modern, spacious surroundings for pupils and staff to thrive in their education."
