Scotland Transerv is to begin two road maintenance schemes worth over £1 million on the A78 trunk road.
The company will carry out resurfacing work from Dubbs Road to Pennyburn Roundabout between 28 November – 01 December, as well as between 05 – 06 December.
Further resurfacing will take place from Sharphill to Pennyburn Roundabouts between 02 – 05 December. Further works will be carried out on Wednesday, 07 December.
Works will take place between 8pm – 6am each night. Diversions will be in place.
Andy Fraser, operating company representative, Scotland TranServ, said the project will improve the road condition for some 4,000 vehicles which travel the route each day.
"This significant investment will only serve to enhance the condition of the A78 trunk road, which is a vital route for road users, hauliers and tourists travelling to and from South Ayrshire, Inverclyde and beyond," he said.
"Scotland TranServ is committed to investing in local infrastructure on behalf of our client to support economic growth throughout south west Scotland."
