Contractor Reaches Milestone On £135,000 Refurb Project

Building services contractor James Frew has reached a milestone on a £135,000 refurbishment project in South Ayshire.

The company has reached the halfway stage of its redevelopment scheme at South Ayrshire Council's Information and Advice Hub in Ayr. The centre is due to reopen to the public on 09 December, 2016.

The refurbishment includes an internal upgrade which will create three new interview rooms near the entrance alongside a new reception, waiting area, accessible toilets and efficient heating.

Councillor Philip Saxton said: "We're committed to improving the way we work with our communities and this project is part of our wider work to do just that.

"By investing in this new Information and Advice Hub we're providing a range of important services to assist customers who are struggling with welfare and benefits related applications, enquiries and tribunal representation.

"With work progressing well on the project, we're looking forward to moving back in early December, a time of year that can be particularly demanding for families."
