Scottish Govt Awards £225,000 For Energy Efficiency Scheme

A housing energy efficiency scheme is set to be delivered in the Scottish Borders.

The Scottish Government has awarded £225,000 towards installing external wall insulation measures at 25 properties owned by Waverley Housing and Eildon Housing Association in Tweedbank.

The funding has been secured as part of a £9 million initiative announced for councils and housing associations across the country.

In addition, a range of measures such as floor and loft insulation will be carried out on a number of homes owned by Scottish Borders Housing Association.

Councillor Frances Renton said: "This funding will enable a range of energy efficiency improvements to be made to a number of homes, which will be of huge benefit to the tenants, providing them with warmer and more comfortable homes in addition to reduced fuel bills."
