Work is underway on a £1.5 million refurbishment project in Aberdeen.

The scheme is taking place at Provost Skene's House in order for the building to become a major city centre attraction.

Works include resurfacing and landscaping, as well as the removal and replacement of the existing external stair and retaining wall, allowing a gas supply into the building.

In addition, the existing courtyard archway is being dismantled and rebuilt in line with Flourmill Lane to form part of the new main entrance to Provost Skene.

Once completed, the building will feature interactive digital installations and audio features alongside more traditional museum displays.

The project is being undertaken in line with existing planning permission and listed building consent.
