Realm Construction is underway with work on a bridge maintenance project in Fife.
The civil engineering firm started upgrading the A919 in Guardbridge today, 31 October.
Works include removing the existing bollards, road kerbs and footpath surface, to replace them with a new footpath surface, heavy vehicle kerbs and pedestrian guardrails.
Fife Council said the new system will remove "the unsightly visual aspect" of the existing bollards while continuing to protect the bridge by deterring vehicle overrun onto the footpath.
In order for the scheme to be carried out safely, two-way monitored traffic signals will be in operation between 9:30am – 3:30pm until Friday, 18 November.
