Developer Gains Approval For Housing Schemes Worth £6.5m

Springfield Properties has been granted permission to deliver three housing developments worth £6.5 million in Moray.

The Elgin-based developer gained approval for the three tenders from the council at a meeting today, 25 October.

A total of 51 new homes will be built at various sites including Ferrylea in Forres (20), Barhill Road in Buckie (15) and Linkwood Steadings in Elgin (16).

The Scottish Government has provided around £3m to cover the projects' costs.

Cllr George Alexander said: "This is excellent news for those waiting for rented housing in Moray and it shows that the council is determined to uphold its promise to build a minimum of 50 affordable houses annually for the next 10 years while maintaining the lowest average council house rents in Scotland."
