Perth & Kinross Council's Building Standards team has secured an accolade for the standard of its customer service.
The division was awarded the Customer Service Excellence standard by certification company SGS, who considered the team had a "deep understanding of, and commitment to, customer service excellence".
The 18-strong team of staff processed 1,812 building warrant applications and 1,909 completion certificates in 2015/16. In addition, it had significant involvement with the 'T in the Park' and 'Rewind' music festivals and responds to reports of falling masonry and other issues regarding defective or dangerous buildings.
Congratulating the division's achievement, Cllr John Kellas said: "The report has much to applaud and reflects very well on our staff who are extremely busy, particularly with the ever-rising demand for new housing in Perth and Kinross. We will look at the areas for action identified by the assessor with the aim to keep on delivering a high level of customer service while ensuring our statutory obligations continue to be met."
