Scotland TranServ is to begin a £220,000 safety barrier replacement scheme on the M77 motorway.
The project marks the third phase of a multi-million pound upgrade programme and work will get underway on Sunday, 25 September.
Over 700 metres of safety barriers will be replaced just south of Nithsdale Overbridge to the top of the on and off ramps leading to the M8 motorway.
The four-week project is expected to be completed by Friday, 21 October.
For safety reasons, the on slip from the M8 to the M77 will be closed on weekday nights throughout the project and traffic management will be in place between 8pm – 6am each night. A series of north and southbound closures will also be in place.
Andy Fraser, operating company representative for Scotland TranServ said: "This is the third phase in a programme of works to carry out significant upgrades to the safety barriers at various locations across the M8 and M77.
"The work will ensure that the barriers are safe and fit for purpose; benefiting commuters and local road users."
