A wind turbine delivery trial run has been completed in the Highlands.
The trial for turbines at SSE's Bhlaraidh wind farm took place between 9am and 2pm today, 20 September, to examine the schemes impact on the local road network.
The project was carried out on the delivery route from Kyle of Lochalsh Harbour to the Broadford Aerodrome where the vehicle turned and then travelled on to the Bhlaraidh wind farm site near Invermoriston.
SSE said the projects route encompasses the local road network, the A87 and A887 south from the Isle of Skye.
The trial involved running a long vehicle with an extendable trailer that simulates the dimensions of a turbine blade as they travel along the delivery route.
The 32-turbine Bhlaraidh wind farm project is expected to become fully operational by the end of 2017.
