East Dunbartonshire Council has secured a contractor to deliver the final phase of repair works at Holy Family Primary School in Kirkintilloch.

Since 2015, the school has been operating out of the former Lairdsland Primary School building in Kerr Street to allow essential structural repairs to be carried out to its base at Boghead Road.

The local authority has now appointed an unnamed contractor to carry out the final phase of remedial works and pupils will be able to return to their original building after the February mid-term break.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: "A date for returning to their original school building is welcome news for the pupils and teachers at Holy Family Primary School.

"There have been challenges in securing a contractor who could commit to completing these works within our required timescales. I'm delighted that these have now been resolved with the final works due to start in the coming weeks and be completed in the new year."
