Persimmon Partnership Homes has begun building a new £6.7 million housing development in South Dunfermline.

The house builder is delivering 56 'affordable' homes on the site of a former Hyundai plant at Dunlin Drive.

The project is being carried out for Kingdom House Association (HA) and is scheduled for completion in 2017.

The Scottish Government has provided a £2.9m subsidy towards the scheme, which is part of a larger mixed tenure development.

Scott Kirkpatrick, Kingdom's acting director of development, said: "The project started in March 2016 and will be completed next year, providing both social rented and mid market rented homes to meet the identified needs in the area."

Colin Connell, development director for Persimmon Partnerships (Scotland), added: "We're delighted to be working in partnership with Kingdom Housing Association to deliver much needed affordable social housing in South Dunfermline.

"The completion of the 56 new homes at Dunlin Drive is another example of our successful partnership working with Kingdom Housing Association and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
