Work to install a new £100,000 grass football pitch in West Lothian has started.
The council is delivering the facility at the underused blaise pitch adjacent to St John's Primary School.
The scheme is being developed in addition to the recent provision of a full-size 3G synthetic surface pitch behind Fauldhouse Partnership Centre. Further plans are in place to build a full size grass pitch for the Eastfield Road Park blaise pitch.
Cllr Dave King said: "The outdoor sports facilities in Fauldhouse are being upgraded. Blaise is an outdated surface for sport, with little or no demand for the surface from clubs, schools or members of the public.
"Alongside the recent installation of a 3G surface in the town, the upgrading of the St John's blaise to a re-seeded grass pitch and the forthcoming development of the Eastfield Park blaise will provide additional high-quality assets for the local community and schools which will accommodate demand now and well into the future."
