Hadden Construction has completed a new council housing development in Alyth, Perth and Kinross.

The contractor has built three houses and eight flats in Springbank Road as part of the local authority's 'affordable' house building programme.

Each property has gas central heating via a combi-boiler as well as a energy saving heating and ventilation recovery system.

Solar panels have also been installed on the roof of the flats to provide cheaper hot water for tenants.

So far, the house building programme has delivered around 200 new council homes in the last three years.

Councillor Doogan said: "These new high-quality houses and flats will provide accommodation to new tenants with a range of accommodation needs, and will transform the lives of the people who live in them. The investment will also make a significant contribution to the development and vibrancy of the community of Alyth.

"All of these new properties have been built to the highest standard in an area where there is a shortage of affordable housing for local families."

Hadden Construction Chairman, Scott Hadden, added: "We're delighted to have played our part in successfully delivering this further phase of new-build housing for our own local authority."
