Graham Construction is continuing work on a £24 million school redevelopment project in Dumfries and Galloway.
The council is making the investment at St Joseph's College as part of the Dumfries Learning Town initiative which is being delivered through Hub South West.
Features of the project include refurbishing historic buildings, incorporating a kitchen/dining area into the buildings and demolishing the outdated block that currently has dining and PR facilities.
In addition, other learning facilities will be levelled and replaced with modern sports facilities including a gym, a synthetic sports pitch and a grass pitch. A new playground, curricular, social and parking facilities will also be developed.
Cllr Jeff Leaver recently visited the site to observe the developments progress and said: "The Dumfries Learning Town project demonstrates our total commitment to delivering school facilities that are fit for purpose in the 21st century.
"I was delighted to visit the site to see the progress being made in refurbishing existing historic buildings and creating new buildings that, along with teaching staff, will offer wonderful learning opportunities for our young people."
