The proposed Holyrood Park Distillery has been granted full planning permission by the City of Edinburgh Council.
The proposal includes a new 'Urban Whisky Distillery' and visitors centre with an existing Category B Listed building on St Leonard's Lane.
The new £3.6 million distillery was designed by Edinburgh's 7N Architects and is a joint development by David Robertson, former Master Distillery for The Macallan, and Rob and Kelly Carpenter, founders of the Canadian branch of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
Work is expected to begin later this year.
