Scottish Water is continuing with work to upgrade the waste water network in Glasgow.
The company is building a new manhole and associated pipework in Prospecthill Road as part of its £250 million five-year programme of work.
However engineers have discovered uncharted utilities which need to be diverted before they can install the new manhole and pipework. As a result, the works will not be completed until September.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "The west-bound carriageway of Prospecthill Road, from its junction with Aikenhead Road to close to its junction with Prospecthill Drive, will remain closed until early September.
"Some further road traffic management will be required after this and we will inform affected road users, customers and businesses in due course."
