McLaughlin & Harvey (McL&H) has secured BRE Global's BIM Level 2 Certification.
As the first construction company in Scotland to achieve the classification, McL&H joins a growing list of industry firms with BIM credentials.
Barclay Chalmers, Managing Director at McL&H Construction, said: "We are very proud of achieving this highly respected certification, and in particular of being the first construction company in Scotland to do so.
"Being able to formally demonstrate Level 2 compliance not only allows us to expand our engagement with centrally procured government contracts but also gives new and existing clients firm assurance that our processes and procedures deliver best value to a project, including capital and operational predictability."
BRE Group's Director for BIM, Guy Hammersley, added: "The certification will enable the company to increase its competitiveness in the public and private sectors, save time and money through simplified tendering processes and share BIM's benefits across numerous sectors."
The UK Government previously set a deadline for all construction companies tendering for public sector contracts to be BIM Level 2 compliant by Monday, 04 April.
BRE Global's BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification scheme assesses a business in relation to its BIM capability and policy as outlined in the PAS 1192-2:2013 and PAS 91 standards. It also considers the ability of the business to meet the requirements of an employer to implement BIM on a project.
