A major milestone has been reached on a £150 million mixed-use development in Edinburgh.
McAleer & Rushe (M&R) has held a 'topping out' ceremony for the new 146-suite Adagio Aparthotel, which sits in the centre of Artisan Real Estate Investors' multi-million pound New Waverley development.
Features of the Edinburgh Old Town scheme includes 177,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, a new £6.5m public square as well as 148 apartments/townhouses.
In addition, a 127-room Premier Inn hotel along with a 130-room Hub by Premier Inn were both recently opened and built by M&R.
Contracts Director, Shane McCullagh, said: "We are very pleased to mark this construction milestone with Artisan. The hotel blends in with its historic environment behind an existing façade on to the Royal Mile and a newly created pedestrian walkway linking Cannongate to the square is inspired by the Old Town's historic 'Wynds'. It has been great working with such a competent developer and we look forward to working with Artisan on other elements of this fantastic scheme."
