Moray Council has launched an online survey seeking public views on a new transport strategy for Elgin.

Councillors agreed the need for a strategy last month after plans for the western link road scheme were scrapped.

The blueprint aims to address pressures that will be placed on the town's roads network from existing and future development.

A series of public drop-in sessions will also be held between 11:30am – 2:30pm at the St Giles Centre on Wednesday, 22 June, from 11:30am – 4pm on 23 June and 11am – 4pm on 25 June.

It is estimated the strategy will be completed by September.

Transportation manager Nicola Moss said: "To help in the preparation of the strategy we want to know what people's views are on travelling to and within Elgin, why people travel to Elgin, what issues and problems they face and, most importantly, what improvements they think are needed.

"It is important that we hear from the people who use the roads network in Elgin and staff from the council's transportation section will be in attendance at the drop-in sessions to listen to what people have to say."
