Celtic Begins Installing Safe Standing Section At Parkhead

Celtic Football Club has began work to install safe standing areas at Parkhead in Glasgow.

Permission to erect the new 3,000 capacity section was approved in summer last year and work to clear existing seats began in May.

In a statement, the club said: "Demand from supporters for a place in the revamped area has been huge as the club embarks on a new era under manager Brendan Rodgers and the first rail seats of the new section in the North East corner of the stadium were put in place today (16 June).

"Work will continue throughout the coming weeks to complete the project ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season."
